This summer, we’re putting on 4 whole day fashion workshops to inspire and empower the next wave of talent.

About the Sessions

Each session will be a full day comprised of hands on workshops, talks from experts, factory tour, film screening, networking with peers, and much more. Each session will include different events and workshops, so book the one that aligns with your career goals or all of them!

Part One: Thursday 7th August at London Screen Academy —10:00am to16:00pm

Personal Branding & Storytelling

Life Skills: Seeking Fulfilling Work

This practical session will guide you through job search strategies, CV writing, and interview prep. You'll gain tools and confidence to navigate the job market and access employment opportunities that match your skills and interests.

Screening + Q&A Discussion: The True Cost

This powerful documentary screening and discussion dives into the real story behind the clothes we wear. We'll explore the global impact of fast fashion - from human rights to environmental damage - and consider what ethical, sustainable fashion really means today.

Life Skills: Building A Professional Network

Learn how to confidently connect with people in your field and build meaningful professional relationships. This session offers tips on communication, introductions, and finding common ground—perfect for career development or creative collaboration.

Sashiko & Boro Mending Workshop

Discover the beauty of traditional Japanese stitching techniques in this hands-on workshop. Sashiko (decorative reinforcement stitching) and Boro (mending and patchwork) offer a mindful, sustainable approach to textile repair and design.

Competitive Analysis: Understanding Your Market (Meet at Selfridges)

A real-world look at pricing, branding, and presentation in fashion retail. We'll meet at Selfridges for a guided exploration of how high street and luxury brands position themselves—and what that means for consumers and designers alike.

Fashion Upcycling Workshop

Turn something old into something new! This creative session will teach you how to give worn or unwanted garments a second life. Learn simple techniques for refashioning, embellishing, and rethinking materials with sustainability in mind.

Introduction to Digital Fashion

Explore the fast-growing world of digital fashion—from virtual garments and avatars to augmented reality design. This session is ideal for anyone curious about how fashion meets tech in innovative and futuristic ways.

Part Four: Thursday 28th August at London Screen Academy & MAES Factory —10:00am to16:00pm

Raw Materials To Finished Goods: A Factory Tour (Meet at MAES)

Get an inside look at how fashion is made. This guided visit to a local factory gives you a rare behind-the-scenes view of garment production, machinery, and the people behind the process. Great for anyone interested in ethical production and manufacturing.

Life Skills: Understanding Workplace Professionalism

Want to have your voice heard? This session focuses on how to speak up, get involved, and take action—whether that’s in your community, workplace, or the wider world. You'll explore communication skills and confidence-building exercises that help you make an impact.

Natural Dye Workshop

Connect with nature through colour in this immersive workshop. You'll learn how to extract dye from plants and other natural materials to create beautiful, sustainable textiles. A blend of science, art, and tradition.
